Introduction:

An ENVID study is a structured, multidisciplinary assessment used to identify potential environmental hazards and impacts associated with project activities across the facility lifecycle.
Conducted at early design stages and during project development, ENVID ensures that environmental risks – such as emissions, discharges, spills, and ecological impacts – are systematically identified and managed in line with regulatory and corporate sustainability requirements.

Purpose:

  • Identify potential environmental hazards and impact sources (air, water, soil, biodiversity)
  • Assess the significance and likelihood of environmental impacts
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company standards
  • Support environmentally responsible design and operational planning
  • Define mitigation and control measures to minimize environmental footprint
  • Provide input to Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and management plans

Outcomes

  • Environmental risk register with identified hazards and impact scenarios
  • Qualitative risk ranking based on severity and likelihood
  • Defined mitigation and control measures (engineering and procedural)
  • Identification of environmentally critical elements and activities
  • Recommendations to improve environmental performance and compliance
